It’s always nice to see residents that are motivated to change their lives and happy with themselves. A participant in the Daylight Twilight High School program that meets three times per week at the KHCLC, made a point to tell me that she had finished and passed all her “Credit by Exams” exams. She was so excited and proud of herself. She was finally going to graduate from high school. She also told me that this wasn’t the end; she had a job interview on Monday. She wasn’t going to let the momentum wane. Good for you, Janie. I’m proud of you too.

I went to Summer Feeding Program training at the Board of Education building. I looked at all the work from all the schools that were displayed. To my pleasant surprise, I saw a project by a frequent attendee of the Homework Club on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.. In fact, I remembered her working on it. I remembered helping her proof read it. It was very satisfying to see the final product of a school project displayed in such a prestigious place.
